(b). Creating a China-UK cooperation team based on a government-level project

        The cooperation team is formed under support of Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Education of China, and by the UK scholars from the Universities of Edinburgh and Manchester and Chinese researchers from Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. A ceremony launching the team has been held on October 28th, 2020, but the actual cooperation has been early started in 2018.  Through this cooperation team it also provides a professional exchange platform for experts and scholars engaged in basic research and technology development on carbon resource conversion and utilization, promotes mutual understanding and cross integration, and facilitates collaboration among industry, engineering and academia.

A progress workshop on the project held in 2021.

        A virtual workshop was held between SYUCT and the experts in Edinburgh area to report the respective research focuses and concerns of all members regarding cooperation concerning the “111” project. As it was planned, all have highlighted their researches and concerns about cooperation, and Dr. Xu also highlighted the relevant progresses made in SYUCT and introduced the resources available to support the cooperation related to “111” project. Finally, intensive discussions were held among the attendees to clarify the point-to-point cooperation topics for every individual scholar but concerning the possibility and actual needs of SYUCT (Guangwen’s team).
