9. Wide-connected international collaboration and communication

        With his ten-year working experience in Japan and Germany, Dr. Xu has been keenly engaged not only in R&D cooperation with other countries but also in helping and promoting scientific exchanges among international R&D communities. He and his team has been granted numbers of governmental / federal and industrial projects to carry out cooperative R&D with tens of leading institutions or companies over the world. These include at least Riken, AIST, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Hirosaki University, Meidensha and IHI of Japan, Universities of Edinburgh, Manchester and Heriot-Watt of the UK, BHBP, CSIRO and Curtin University of Australia, UBC and FPInnovations of Canada, Ajou University of Korea, Munkhnoyon Suvraga of Thailand, Technical University of Hamburg of Germany, and CNRS-Université de Lorraine of France. He was intensively invited to serve chairs/co-chairs, and to give plenary/keynote speeches at various national and international conferences and present technical seminars at many occasions across the global.
